New Year’s resolutions… We all had a lot more time to think about them in 2022. All the exercise, writing that novel or taking that course.

Now it’s the 9th of January and we have somehow managed to put off beginning our resolutions for a myriad of reasons. Tomorrow I’ll do it but that tomorrow never comes.

In the last week alone, I’ve helped jump start a few clients resolutions. In BWRT we call procrastinating about our resolutions, ‘Being Stuck’. But there is a way to create a positive response to feeling Stuck.

With BWRT we tap into your specific motivators so you feel the mental benefits of exercising even before you begin. This provides the boost to power you forward and through a workout.

Doing an Online BWRT on the couch can help you get off the couch in 2023.

Covid-19 has made it impractical and even impossible for many people to see a therapist in person over the last 9 months. A wave of therapists migrating into online offices has begun.

At first, many clients have doubts that online therapy can be as effective as in-person sessions. In fact, the results are in – we are finding a clear advantage to online therapy, categorizing e-sessions as an asset rather than a detriment.

Just think about it. If you’re limited to face-to-face appointments, you are severely limiting your choice of therapist to those practicing within a short commute of where you live.

With online therapy you have the entire world to choose from to find that perfect fit.

Furthermore, for in-person sessions you have to get dressed, look up directions, drive or ride public transport, and often come directly from work and other stressors.

With online therapy you can do sessions from the comfort of your own home, in your pajamas, and usually outside of ‘normal’ office hours.

The more relaxed you are, the more effective your therapy sessions will be.

Some therapies are not always suited to online work, and technical issues like a freezing screen can derail others. Luckily with my BWRT practice, I had a seamless transition into online therapy.

BWRT is the best online therapy as it’s fast, effective and easily understood, so the client listening on the other side of the world can get great results fast.

Best of all, if the connection drops in mid session, BWRT can be picked straight back up where we left off with no detriment to the effectiveness of treatment. We don’t have to try to get the client back into a hypnotic state or certain mindframe because there is no state to get into.

You are fully conscious and following along with the process.

Our conclusion after nine months of the new normal is that online therapy is not only suited to BWRT, but it’s actually preferable.

BWRT® stands for BrainWorking Recursive Therapy, a model of psychology and psychotherapy created by a UK-based psychotherapist, Terence Watts, MCGI.

It’s a totally confidential method that doesn’t require you to reveal your private information or personal secrets to your therapist and is carried out in a completely conscious state unlike hypnotherapy.

It doesn’t use hypnosis or any mystical concepts – it’s completely logical, practical and down-to-earth, and only requires you to know what you want to change in your life for it to be completely successful.

In an hour-long session, the client is guided to use their own thoughts – without the therapist even needing to know these thoughts – to help create a totally natural change that comes from your own mind. It is the perfect online therapy – and we have found it actually works better online than in person because the client is more relaxed at home.

It’s unlike other therapies where the therapist often determines how you should be feeling. You are in the driver’s seat, completely in control.

BWRT® is a rapid therapy. Most problems are resolved within a couple of sessions and even complex issues are usually resolved within 4-5 sessions. Other forms of therapy can take months or even years to get the same results.

How does it work? BWRT® changes old negative ways of thinking by intercepting the trigger thought at source and creating a new neural pathway so an emotion or event can no longer trigger destructive behavior patterns or thoughts that hold us back and leave us crippled by our fears and conditioning.

BWRT® has shown remarkable results for those who have undertaken it. You can even have BWRT® sessions on Skype or Zoom from your own home. It is just as effective.

We offer a FREE initial consultation to answer any of your questions.

BWRT® treats:

anxiety, phobias, fears, depression, self-esteem, emotional eating, performance enhancement, addiction, PTSD and more…

Only Registered Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code.
A lovely, elderly woman appeared today for her appointment with an issue of “loss of creativity,” as she put it.

“I’ve lost my spark,” she proclaimed. First we figured out how she would like to feel.

She mused, “My pen is flowing fast.” She then constructed a future memory of her finishing her latest novel.

Her frustration at “losing her spark,” was at a 10, 10 being unbearable.

After a couple of rounds of BWRT we got the number down to 5 but we both felt something was not quite right… So we delved into the issue some more. I asked her did anything happen around the time she lost her spark?

She shook her head, but after a few moments tears were in her eyes. I asked did she want to talk about it, but she just shook her head again then said the word ‘anniversary.’

The great thing about BWRT being content free is that I didn’t need to know what was going on in her head, only how she would like to feel.

“I want to feel free,” she said. Her future memory changed into her sailing on a ship on the ocean. After 2 more rounds of BWRT she felt that her frustration of not being able to write had gone to zero. She said she felt freer and was going to get on that boat and finish her book.

I’m not entirely sure what she needed to be free of, but she left a smiling lady.

For the first time I used BWRT in the realms of sports enhancement last week with a young football player struggling with anxiety whenever he thought about his next match. It was getting so bad he was starting to get depressed as he was not enjoying the build up to the matches even days before.

In our session as we dug deeper into his presenting symptom of anxiety, we found he was actually anxious about a match he played months ago. He was surprised to realise he had been running the bad match over and over in his head. In that match he had a bad performance and was substituted at half time. The fear of the past was clouding his future.

We needed to rewire the negative emotion running from the memory of the bad game through a positive feeling so he would get better thoughts about playing football in the present.

We took our time to figure out exactly the worst part of the memory of the bad game and to understand how he wants to feel instead in future times when he thinks about playing football.

We did a few rounds of BWRT, getting the intensity of anxiety right, then replacing it with the neutral feeling to the point where it did not bother him anymore. He was most surprised of all when he said he found it hard even to connect to feelings of anxiety anymore.

I look forward to continuing to use BWRT to aid in sports enhancement – my true passion.

I recently completed the first round of my new therapeutic program called the Ascension Empowerment Intensive. My first client was a woman who is extremely experienced in the world of personal development. Over the course of her life she has been through years of traditional psychotherapy & hypnotherapy, is a decades-long practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism, and a student and facilitator of various psycho-spiritual practices. Her very livelihood is based on spiritual therapy. All her years of self-inquiry, study and teaching has truly transformed this woman into a force to be reckoned with. Her very presence is inspiring, her knowledge vast, and her experience plenty.

Our month together knocked my therapeutic socks off. Never had I encountered a client so determined and persistent. Each week flowed beautifully, the two of us working together, perfectly in tune with what was coming up, and flexible in the direction her own subconscious and my intuition were guiding us to go. My grand experiment – daily therapist-client contact – presented us with profound transformational power that we harnessed to bring about rapid change for this woman.

While designing the program, I naturally put the emphasis on the therapeutic sessions themselves, of which 16 hours are included in the program. BWRT, Hypnotherapy, Past Life Regression, Empowerment Coaching and many more – this is where I assumed the real work would be done. I looked at the daily contact, which happens mostly via text or email, to act simply as a new habit reinforcer and method of encouragement.

But I had it backwards.

At the end of the month, both of us in tears, she shared with me the most impactful aspect of the Ascension Empowerment Intensive. She said that although the sessions themselves were helpful and effective, it was actually the daily contact that packed the most transformational clout.

She went on to explain that in normal life, it can feel burdensome to constantly unload and share with loved ones while going through an extended period of transformation. Somehow knowing she could, and actually was expected to share every emotional signal, every creative thought, each grand epiphany – plus all the micro ups and downs along the way – empowered her to go harder, faster and deeper than she ever had before.

The container itself – the intimate daily communication with her therapist – is what really helped her reach her goals faster than she ever could have imagined.

Moving forward, I now have a better understanding and deep respect for the practice of daily contact with my clients.

Sometimes the most powerful therapy can be having someone to listen to you – uninterrupted and exclusively.

The Ascension Therapy Intensive is a 30-day, custom designed transformation intensive done completely online. It includes 16 hours of live therapeutic sessions with a menu to choose from, personalized assignments, a workbook and of course, daily contact with your therapist. Learn more here.

It’s Election time USA. Trump vs Biden. For my wife, this is a stressful time as she is completely, emotionally invested in the outcome.

“On a scale of 1 to 10,” I asked, “how stressed are you?”

“11. No 12!” she blurted out.

For this situation, I used a protocol in BWRT called FTSD – Future Traumatic Stress Disorder. This is for when you are extremely frightened of a future outcome. Normally in BWRT I look for the worst memory of a client’s issue but this time I was going to work on how certain she was of a negative outcome.

It’s the fear attached to the outcome we are really working on, but the certainty level works great to really focus on the negative emotion she does not want to feel while watching the election results.

We want to make her life more enjoyable even when it’s still difficult.

After only 3 rounds of BWRT we had the negative feeling down from 12 to 6 to 3. She was happy with 3. “I want some excitement,” she announced, then surprised herself that she could actually enjoy watching the election again instead of being in a constant fear state.

It’s not that she cared less about who won. Now she could enjoy the election and slash anxiety while still rooting for her candidate.

BWRT is an effective treatment for election anxiety, but really, it’s an effective treatment for ANY anxiety about a future outcome that’s out of our control.

If he did pick up a brush, a wave fatigue would flow through his mind and body causing his hands to shake.

If the painter had gone for anxiety treatment the therapist would probably have wanted to find out all about his past and how that might be driving his symptoms now. Depending on the person and therapy, this can be a fairly long and costly process.

Instead, using BWRT as an online therapy, the painter had his brain rewired to have the feeling of “satisfied calm” whenever he thought about painting.

After a few sessions the man’s neurons were firing through a new trigger created by his desired response of how he wanted to feel when he thought about completing a painting.

He didn’t need to know why he couldn’t finish a painting and he really didn’t care. He just wanted to be able to do what he loved again.

Time and again, I’m finding BWRT to be the fastest therapy to treat a myriad of issues.

Reading a recent NPR article about how how Inuit parents teach kids to control their anger, I was surprised by the similarities with BWRT.

Jean Briggs, a Harvard graduate, travelled to the arctic tundra to live with the Inuit community for 17 months. One of the things that most intrigued her was, across the board, all the moms mention one golden rule: Don’t shout or yell at small children. Inuits wait for them to calm down to a relaxed state. And then they get to telling stories to create new neural pathways through which their children can truly understand their world.

As one Inuit mother put it, “With little kids, you often think they’re pushing your buttons, but that’s not what’s going on. They’re upset about something, and you have to figure out what it is.”

For thousands of years, the Inuit have relied on an ancient tool with an ingenious twist: “We use storytelling to discipline.”

For example, how do you teach kids to stay away from the ocean, where they could easily drown? Instead of yelling, “Don’t go near the water!” Jaw says Inuit parents take a pre-emptive approach and tell kids a special story about what’s inside the water. “It’s the sea monster,” Jaw says, with a giant pouch on its back just for little kids.

With BWRT we are also telling the client a tiny part of a story (at times just an image), that when said at the right time in the right way will land between the decision and the action. So even if the decision would normally be detrimental, it now filters thought the new positive story and a new positive action will take place.

The Inuits seem to tell the story with calm intensity, claiming that the tone and demeanor is of the utmost importance. This is very close to BWRT where the tone is urgent intensity, so the mind accepts it as something important that needs its full attention.

The article goes on to say, “When you try to control or change your emotions in the moment, that’s a really hard thing to do,” says Lisa Feldman Barrett, a psychologist at Northeastern University who studies how emotions work.

But if you practice having a different response or a different emotion at times when you’re not angry, you’ll have a better chance of managing your anger in those hot-button moments, Feldman Barrett says.

“That practice is essentially helping to rewire your brain to be able to make a different emotion [besides anger] much more easily,” she says.

This emotional practice may be even more important for children, says psychologist Markham, because kids’ brains are still developing the circuitry needed for self-control.

BWRT is excellent at precisely pinpointing the right part of the brain function to plant the new story to elicit a new emotional response. The story carries all the new information in neurons that fire between the decision to the action to fire the newly desired response.

BWRT online is perhaps the fastest therapy in these Covid days when people are stuck at home. BWRT clients can choose how they want to feel in little stories and this would work great for PTSD treatment, trauma treatment and the anxiety treatment that is greatly needed in these troubling times.
